A meningioma is a type of tumor that forms on the membranes that cover the brain and spinal cord, specifically the three layers that are called meninges. Meningioma is divided into intracranial meningioma and ectopic meningioma. Among the intracranial tumors, the incidence of meningioma is the second, following the incidence of glioma . The most common locations of meningioma include parasagittal/falcine, convexity, olfactory groove, sphenoid ridge, suprasellar. Meningiomas are the most common benign brain tumors and constitute about 15%~24% of all intracranial tumors.
